HomeGeneral ChatMacUpdate is having one of their great bundle sales

I love MacUpdate!  They always have such great deals for Mac Users. I especially love their bundles though.  A couple of times a year MacUpdate seems to come through with products that I really need, and allows me to try some other new products for less than what I would have paid for a single application.  And while this might not be “news” for anyone else, I just found out that MacUpdate has a “Promo Subscription” where you pay $50 per month, and get $60 in MacUpdate credits.  If you purchase at MacUpdate frequently, then this is a great option.  Now, for the current bundle:

top-iconsCase in point.  I need to upgrade ScreenFlow.  ScreenFlow is the defacto standard in screen capture software for Mac.  I know people who use Camtasia, but they are generally folks who also use Camtasia on Windows and want a “familiar” feel for their screencast software.  ScreenFlow is a must for anyone who wants to create video how-tos and webinar type videos.  Actually, I’ve known I wanted to upgrade for some time, but I generally try to hold out for a MacUpdate Bundle for items like this.  Unless I absolutely NEED the latest version, I know that in a few months a Bundle will come along and save me some money.  Upgrade price for ScreenFlow is only $29 though.  So, if that’s all that I wanted, it wouldn’t necessarily be cost effective.

But then there’s PDFPen.  I’ve wanted this app for awhile, but have never gotten around to picking it up.  Everyone I talk to loves it.  PDFPen allows you to add images, signatures, annotations, text, etc. to PDFs.  You can also OCR PDFs for easier searching.  My ScreenFlow upgrade and PDFPen together is $80, nearing twice the price of this bundle.  Oh – and you can upgrade to PDFPen Pro for an additional $20.00.  That saves you $20 more on the regular $40 difference between PDFPen and PDFPen Pro.

Add to that TechTool Pro 7.  Again, I could benefit from “upgrade” pricing on TechTool Pro, but even at that I’ve added another $40 to the mix, and I’m $70 ahead now.  If you were purchasing all three of these applications new, the cost is coming in at $260.00  And I will tell you that I’ve ABSOLUTELY used TechTool Pro to fix problems on Macs hard drives.  To use that old cliché, it’s worth its weight in gold!

My son will be happy that I can upgrade him to Civilization V: Gold Edition.  I’m intrigued by the bundled productivity software Vitamin-R. And for photography buffs like my husband, check out FotoMagico 4, Choco 2 and Snapheal Pro.

Rounding out the bundle are DeltaWalker, a file/folder comparison tool, and Aurora 5, a Mac alarm clock.

I’m off to purchase my bundle right now!
